Our Class of 2020 is hosting a Welcome Back Beach Bash fundraiser! The event invites all high school students to come meet up for lunch at the Old Salty Dog restaurant on Siesta Key!

After the main event at 1:30, there will volleyball, soccer, and other games set up on the beach near the volleyball courts. The address is at 5023 Ocean Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34242. We will be receiving 15% of the proceeds.
The folks at Tijuana Flats hosted our class at the end of last year. Students who attended had a deliciously spicy night of fun!
Tijuana Flats is a local Tex-Mex Restaurant famous for its unique spin on traditional Tex-Mex foods. Tijuana also offers a "Hot Bar" where students can pick out sauces from spice levels of "Sissy Sauce" to "Death Wish." There were a lot of red faces, spice-induced tears, and amazing bonding moments for our class.
T'was the time for one of our biggest fundraisers again this year! Last year, we made a profit of about $800. We hoped to make even more money this year. Last year, we tried to fit everything in one day, but it got too chaotic with trying to do the Elementary and Middle School students at the same time.
On March 22nd (Thursday), we had our HS tournament at 1:15 PM at the track. The fee was $7 per person, and water was included. We could not include pizza, because we were not allowed "compete" with the school cafeteria at this time. The MS tournament took place at 4:15 PM and the fee was $10. Pizza and water were included.
On March 23rd (Friday), we had the EL soccer tournament at 4:15 PM. The fee was also $10; pizza and water again were both included!
We were unable to host the middle school soccer tournament due to not having enough participants.
Although we did even more advertising this year, it was unfortunate that we profited less this year with only about $315. Thank you to all the participants, volunteers, and people who helped set up this event.
Our class hosted a fundraiser at Mad Moe's Sports Pub and Grill, a restaurant right next to Pine View School. Students displayed their school spirit and chowed down on some of Mad Moe's delicious specialty burgers.
Class meeting was in the gym during 2nd period.

With this, we just finally reached double digits!
As tradition passed down to us, we were given the popcorn and cotton candy stands this year. It went extraordinarily well! In addition, we were able to create our own angry birds stand and run it. The Variety show also hosted its stand with its MYSTERY Guessing game. Overall, it was very fun and a great turnout. Good support from the class! We had plenty of volunteers.
We introduced the new class officers for the 2017-2018 year and reintroduced our sponsors, Mrs. Hentges and Mr. Pauling. We also went over some volunteering opportunities to support the class at the snack stands and at the PV Fair.
We went over the date for the PV Fair and the snack stands we are managing: Popcorn, Cotton Candy, Angry Birds, and the Mystery Guessing Game (Variety Show).
We showed some other upcoming events that students could come to support the class and the school: Ms. Pine View, Mr. Pine View, Band Concert, Orchestra Concert, Chorus Concert, Variety Show, etc.
Lastly, we went over Social Media. Social Media is very important, and it is essential for everyone in our class to join. By not being in one of our Social Media pages, you will miss out on information regarding a lot of fundraisers, fun events, and fundraiser opportunities. The most important thing you will miss out will be the precious time you could be spending with your class. In addition, the social media pages are a place for us to socialize as a class as well. Everyone is free to post anything they want regarding the class. Example: any questions regarding school/homework, posting pictures of a school event, asking for advice, etc.
Then...at the end, we had plenty of time left over. So, we did the most logical thing anyone would do inside of a gym. That's right! Play some dodgeball! Right in front of Mrs. Fair! Although we did get into a little bit of trouble, it was totally worth it.
Open House babysitting turned out great! We had a lot of volunteers this time, but nonetheless, CHAOS ensued! There was a lot of yelling and running around, but it was fun. The parents paid $10 for us to watch and give food to each kid. We helped them with homework, played some games, and had to stop crazy kids from running out the door every few minutes.
